Shutter Hardware - Stainless

STAINLESS HARDWARE

This hardware is a high quality imported line that is a good replacement if you have hardware originally made by James Peters.  The James Peters hardware has been available for over 50 years and is found on many homes.  This line of stainless hardware has a black matte powder coat finish.  The hinges and pintles use a 3/8” diameter pintle and hinge, they are not interchangeable with our hand made products.  However they are an economical yet durable line.  If you need replacement hardware for the Peters products or want stainless steel shutter hardware we have a compete line of hinges, pintles, tie backs, and bolts.  Because this hardware is imported, we cannot offer custom sizes.  However for the challenging shutter installation we do have a pintle spacer.  It is black plastic and ¼” thick.  They can be placed between the house and the pintle, allowing adjustment of the offset in small increments.  All hardware except the spacer and lock are sold in pairs.  So a quantity of two is required for each window. 

Hinges

The hinges come in three styles; strap, L and flat.  The barrel diameter is 3/8 inch.  Offsets for the L and Flat are ½”, 1 ½” and 2 ¼”.  The Strap is 12” long and is offered in ½” and 1 ½”.  The L Hinge is designed to mount to both the rail and stile of the shutter.  This improves the strength of the shutter by mounting to both frame elements.  It is a good choice for a project restoring older shutters.  The Flat Hinge designed to be used as a third hinge on larger louvered shutters without a mid rail.  All offsets in each style are the same price.  Sold with square drive fasteners.

Pintles

The variety of styles is smaller than our hand made products, but offers enough variety to work in most situations.  Plate pintles are available in 3 offsets, to match the hinges.  If an offset other than these is needed, the ¼” thick spacers can be stacked to make any offset between.  Also available is a lag pintle with a 4” thread

The plate pintle is offered with square drive fasteners.

Tie Backs

These are not the only stainless tie backs, we also have quite a few of the domestic, hand made designs available in stainless.  The two designs shown are part of the stainless imported line and the finish matches the other hardware exactly.  Both are packaged with their own lag mount kit.  No other mounting options are available.

Slide Bolt

The slide bolt is 12” long and makes your shutters truly functional.  If you want them to close, they should also lock closed. The bolt adds a distinctive touch to any home.
