The Lynn Cove Foundry & Forge

The Lynn Cove Foundry & Forge line is an affordable yet durable line of imported shutter hardware. The hinges and pintles are all hand forged steel with a powder coat finish. The hinges and plate pintles have a nice detail on their edges that provides a distinctive look. The majority of the hinges and pintles use the ½ inch pin standard, which makes them compatible with our hand forged line. There is also a very affordable small pin L hinge set. The small pin uses a 5/16 diameter standard, which is common to imported lines sold elsewhere. The advantage of the Lynn Cove line is that the barrels of the hinge are welded closed, making them stronger. Also in this line are two shutter bolts, one cast aluminum and one in stainless steel.

Hinges

The hinges are offered two styles. Both mount onto a pintle with a ½” diameter, making them compatible with our hand forged line. Offset options are listed in the table below. Because these are imported, no optional sizes or offsets are available.

The hinges are sold in pairs, the L hinge pair set is symmetrical, one for the top of the shutter and one for the bottom.

Pintles

A variety of styles in pintle designs allows many mounting situation options. This is very important to assure the look and affordability of the project. Please take the time to read the resources page and talk with your contractor before making a choice. Because these are imported, no custom offsets are available.

Small Pin Hardware

While these are the most affordable choice in the line they are still very authentic. The end treatment of the hinge and the scallop on the pintle plate are similar to a hinge design patented over a hundred years ago. The design is often referred to as New York style L hinge. This imported line is superior to what many offer, the hinges are made of a thicker material, the barrels are welded for strength, and the edges of the hinge have a nice bevel for character. This line is sold in per window quantities only. To quantify the savings, you would need to add the prices for two sets of pintles and hinges. An option many do not carry in the small pin hardware line is the lag pintle. This allows for most unique offset requirements.
